Fashion Accessories
For my final project in my Fashion Accessories class I had to create two looks. My first look did not have a certain amount cap. My objective was create the second look without exceeding $50 per piece. I feel I captured the look of the first while staying in my price range. I learned that I could find pieces similar in shape but I could not find in similar color and/or fabric. The first look's price reached $1,536. The second look came to $ 191.99Look for Less Project was made using Polyvore.
Apparel Design
My children's collection for Apparel Design class was
inspired by a children's book. I chose
Bruce Springsteen's "Outlaw
Pete." This book has a western
theme which I believe I captured well, while keeping the look modern. My target audience for these looks are girls
ages 7-12. My personal objective was to
create garments that could be interchangeable to create new sets of looks. I feel I accomplished this and can see
multiple garments matched with others in these illustrations. My process started by creating two croquis as
a foundation to creating the looks. Next
I used tracing paper placed over the croqius allowing me to refine my
drawings. Once I was satisfied with the
renderings, I transferred them to a quality paper using a light tracer. With this collection I used multiple mediums
but mainly watercolor. The color palette
of black, plum, and navy blue was inspired by a nighttime illustration from the
book.
Styling
These are photos by a local photography team Kuirsta +Seth. This shoot is their Senior
Representative program. I was hired to
assist with wardrobing. I worked on Austin's look. This is the first time they used a male model
in the program. Kuirsta's vision was
mixing patterns, mainly stripes, polka
dots, and floral. The goal was to create
a look that accentuated the girls' quirky, fun outfits and personalities
without outshining or clashing with them.
I chose a basic black denim and a chambray shirt. To add a little quirk I added a black
cardigan and black converse. To complete
the look Kuirsta made a polka dot tie!
